Omitting Information When Printing Posted: 15 Jul 2009 02:26 PM |
Good Afternoon,
I work with the Ontario Provincial Police. We have been using AskSam for a number of years for one of our cases.
What we need to do is to omit certain information found in our text section of our database. The information we need to remove is currently placed in between brackets ie, <^Chuck went to the store>. Is there any way at all we can use these brackets, so that the information found inside them can be omitted.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Amy, from what I know this is not possible with askSam.
You would have to use a workaround, e.g. exporting the documents to be printed to an RTF file (set page break as delimiter) and open it in Microsoft Word.
By automatically replacing all text within brackets (you would have to use a regluar expression like \<*'\>) you would then have a printable version.
Probably someone else has a better idea, if not let me know if you need some further help.
