Build 143 has deleted my custom toolbar

| askSam pro v 7.0.2.143 which I installed five months ago has spontaneously deleted my custom toolbar and refuses to save toolbar modifications. I customize the toolbars and shut down the program. When I reopen askSam it reverts to the default toolbar provided with the program. Please advise regarding a solution. I am running Vista Home Premium. This previously occurred with build 137 last year and you fixed it with build 138.

| What are the potential askSam replacements? If there is something that organizes information as flexibly and searches like askSam but is more stable and less buggy that would be the ticket.
To askSam tech support: I have been a long time user of askSam and it has been an excellent information organizer but the bugs are frustrating and waste signficant amounts of my time. Recently I had to recover a considerable amount of corrupted data and now this toolbar issue is holding up my work ... |

I notice your date is 07-24-2008 - today is 08-20-2008 - has askSam admin responded with a solution? I'm not seeing a post. |

Build 141 does not install

| Build 141 will not install. I presently have AS7 Pro build 138. I have attempted automatic upgrade installation three times and manual download and installation twice. The upgrade is unsuccessful every time - build 138 remains as the AS7 Pro version. I am running Vista Home Premium. |

| Having the Document Properties/Attachments/Tools window(s) a permanent part of the documents display window is awful. 'Hide' should allow the window to permanently close. You have made me regret the upgrade from build 138 to build 141.
Flo articulates this problem perfectly. Can we PLEASE GET RID of this ANNOYING popping sidebar. I want the option of an unobstructed and undistracted view of my documents.

| I attempted to import a pdf file yesterday - it crashed AS7 and corrupted my database. I had to reconstruct the database from the .bak file.
Also, I assume you will be letting us know about fixes for the nonsaving toolbar and failed file association problem.
Despite the glitches, overall I like the improvements in AS7 compared to AS6.

| askSam v7.0.2.137 is not recognized as an opening program by Vista. When I attempt to desiginate askSam.exe as the program to always open .ask files Vista does not recognize askSam.exe as a valid opening program. I had no problem with this function with askSam v6.
I disabled Windows firewall and my antivirus program thinking that they might be the problem but it made no difference. |

HTML and HTM files import as text with no graphics

| The import utility imports *.html and *.htm files only as text files with no graphics, frames or formatting. My OS is Vista.
I am using build 6.1.2.809 which Ben in askSam tech support made available in response to my previous problem where the askSam import utility was nonfunctional and crashed askSam with the message "The Import DLL is having problems, please contact tech support..." That problem is resolved but the htm/html files only import as plain text files. |
