| " the lack of response to our issues "
They probably dont have the money to hire people to do the job right, do proper SQA, do proper PR control, blog, etc., and maintain these boards in anything but a drive-by-posting fasion. THe irony is that in this catch-22, resources vs. money,
Where are the modern reviews and updated case studies? Where are the more complex templates for download, or more advanced reports and examples-- not just "sales" and other "home inventory" templates? Where ... |

| Well, yeah. I don't exactly notice a torrent of support nor development activity here whatsoever. There were a couple of guys a month or two ago who posted about "last one here turn off the lights", and increasingly I'm wondering if I should be turning out the lights or leave it to you.
Is the technology being eclipsed by more modern SQL products, or free google and MS desktop search advances? Are more slick "PIMs", searchable and indexable, stealing asksam's thunder? What's causing ... |

| Well, this is depressing. I've posted myself about the relative solitude here for months now.
Anyone at asksam care to chime in regarding the company, the lack of website updates, and the plans for asksam 8 alpha, and so on? |

| Gone president, lost developer, old news, no updates, fabricated forum users....
Anybody got a bugle?
I don't think anyone would be this sad at this if the product weren't so interesting, still. |

| I'll do like Fred and append my own post-
A lot of software programs have 3rd party support forums that are essentially enthusiast sites, hosted on yahoo groups or elsewhere, where real support and ideas are exchanged.
This doesn't have to mean that the corporate boards like this one are not of use, it just means that users or fans want their own place to stretch their legs and make it useful as they see fit.
Anyone start something like this for asksam? Are there any other places to ... |

| The newsletter?? since when has that been up-to-date? I really don't recall it ever being ahead of any curve. It's supposed to be about asksam, and then you get tips like "back up your computer" or "here is some drawing software" or "how to set your clock". Well, not literally, but just about along those lines.
I have not seen a trace of A/S people in months. I'm assuming they're stopped production, and are paying the webhosting so as not to appear totally gone.
Until I see otherwise, ... |

| "International Computer Driver's License". Wow, that sounds very official... Can that be used instead of a computer passport? :-)
Marc, your comment is like someone living their whole life through the ice age, and they're 85 years old, and they've been shivering all their life, and someone drops in, having travelled from some rare secluded warm spot, and comes through the door and says to the old man "hey, it's cold in here".
You couldn't be more on the mark. In my opinion, it's the ... |

| Ed, you are truly one hand clapping in the forest. Good for you for solving your own problem, because you'll grow a long beard before anyone here answers your questions. Thanks for sharing. |
